Hi there, i'm looking for mysql for iphone, then I find here.

I try to install a forum on iphone, well, that means I try to use iphone as a portable web server with cool features. I've already got lighttp and php in Cydia, but there is only SQLite in Cydia which is not suitable for me. I searched, then I find iMy, it's a little bit expensive to me. And I saw the size of it, seems it can't complete my dream. So I haven't bought it yet.

I wanna ask if it can make my iphone(JBed) a powerful server? Or do you have any suggestions for me?

If people got MySQL for iphone, they could do lots of things with it, right? To me, it would be very cool. Portable wordpress, portable mediawiki, portable phpbb, portable zend etc. People don't even have to know the knowledge of websites cause these things are easy to install with friendly interface, just need a simple tutorial.

Running MySQL server on the iPhone is not something you want to do. I have done it, and it runs very very poorly. Also, it has very little value, since if you are mobile, your IP address will be changing a lot, so managing connections would be very difficult, so having people connect to wordpress, etc, would be nearly impossible.

iMy is just the client for the above reasons. At $5.99USD (cost of a fast food meal), you get a full client with the ability to use SSH for secure connections, and you can upload and download queries to and from your device. There is no other MySQL client that offers that, for any price.
